The Top 100 : This past week shortstop Bryan Rincon was added to MLB’s top 100 prospect list giving the Phillies four players on the “daunted” list. I guess that makes Bryan a better player than he was before now that he’s “ranked”. I’ve long had a cynical view of these lists and of those who treat them as validation. Forty-three players are participating in the 2026 Dominican Fall Instructional camp which began on 9/7. Yesterday the first road scrimmage game was played against the Braves - today the Phillies host the Braves at their academy. In minor league baseball the primary focus is on individual player development with league games being opportunities to enhance individual skills. While teams play to win each contest there’s generally not an in game strategic approach to doing so with playing time scheduled ahead of time and closely adhered to. 9/5/26 : Aidan Miller to  begin rehab with Threshers

As previously reported by both Matt Gelb of the Athletic and Scott Lauber of the Inquirer twenty-two year old Aidan Miller is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment tonight with the Clearwater Threshers. If he plays it will be his first game action of the season as he’s been sidelined since 9/18/25 with a back injury. 9/3/26 : Paul Owens Award

Since 1986 the Phillies have honored the annual top position players and pitchers in their minor league system. The award is named in memory of Paul Owens, a Phillies legend who spent 48 years in the Phillies organization as a scout, farm director, general manager, manager and senior advisor. Last year UTL Otto Kemp & RHP Griff McGarry were the award recipients. The Phillies single A teams end their regular season this week on 9/6/26, AA Reading concludes next week on 9/13/26
