2/16/2021 : 2021 Free Agent Signings - ex Phillies plus one 😎

Catcher Jeff Mathis has signed a minor league contract with an invitation to big league spring training with the Phillies. Mathis is 37 years old and is a 16 year major league veteran having played with the Angels, Blue Jays, Marlins, Diamondbacks and Rangers. He played in 24 games with Texas during the 2020 season.

RHP Blake Parker has signed a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training with the Cleveland Indians. Parker pitched for the Phillies in 2020 and is 35 years old. He’s pitched in 8 major league seasons and went 3-0 with a 2.81 ERA in 14 games ( 16 IP ) for the Phillies last season. Always got itchy watching him pitch as he stretched his upper body before delivering a pitch as if he had a scratch he couldn’t itch 🤷‍♂️ ... admirable though that he also seemed willing to always take the baseball each and every day !
