2/23/2021 : Former Phillie Austin Bossart retires

Austin Bossart, drafted by the Phillies in the 14th round of the 2015 draft as a Catcher from the University of Pennsylvania has voluntarily retired from baseball. Austin was traded to the New York Mets on July 19th, 2019 for LHP Jason Vargas.

He played 4 1/2 seasons in the Phillies organization including 118 games at Reading from 2017 to 2019. Austin finished his pro baseball playing career with the Binghamton Mets.

We wish Austin well in his future endeavors, a truly good young man, very popular with all his teammates. We’re sure he will excel in whatever future career path he’s chosen.

Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
