Another veteran signing has recently taken place to help fill voids in the minor league organization. Tyler Alexander has been pitching for the Sussex County Miners in the Frontier League.
He leaves leading the league in strikeouts with 42, third in WHIP at 0.99 amongst starting pitchers and sixth in ERA at 2.23. He threw 36 1/3 innings which slots 4th highest in the league.
Alexander is 29 years old and was the 27th round draft selection of the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2013 draft from Florida International University. He pitched three years in the minor leagues with the Brewers ( 2013-2014 ) and A’s ( 2019 ). In the other years he’s pitched in Mexico, the Dominican Winter League and various independent leagues.
It’s expected that he will join either the Reading or Lehigh Valley staff.
