Triple-A East League—Lehigh Valley IronPigs (34-41) at Rochester Red Wings (Nationals, 30-43 ); Frontier Field
Third baseman Daniel Brito collapsed on the field in the bottom of the first inning in game one of a planned double header, the Red Wings manager who was coaching third base sprinted towards him to hold him up as he staggered. Iron Pigs manager Gary Jones, shortstop Nick Maton and coach Pat Borders helped lay Daniel down on the ground as his legs quivered. As medical professionals arrived on the field an ambulance was called for and arrived shortly thereafter.
He was placed on a stretcher and into the ambulance. The Red Wings announcer said he seemed to be awake and interactive as he went into the ambulance. Daniel singled in the top of the first inning and had run the bases.
