Florida Complex League - Blue Jays 2 ( 3-4 ) Phillies 1 ( 3-4 )
LHP Erik Miller made his second start and appearance of the season in the FCL going three scoreless innings. He coaxed four fly ball outs and four grounders facing just 10 batters ( one walk ). The 23 year old is pitching his way back from shoulder issues earlier this spring … very encouraging outing today.
Chris Burke led off the seventh inning with a single, he advanced to second on a walk to Wilson Valdez. Alexeis Azuaje sacrificed bunted them both up a base. Grenny Cumana grounded out to score Burke.
The Blue Jays tied the game in the bottom of the seventh without producing a hit. Four errors ( two by Jamari Baylor, one each by Chris Burke & Maikel Garrido ) put runners at second and third. Rainer Nunez then grounded out to score the game tying run.
The Jays got their first hit of the game in the eighth inning and also scored … a double, single, throwing error by Chris Burke and a wild pitch.

Mitchell Edwards had two hits, a single and a double. Chris Burke had two singles.
Leandro Pineda, Jamari Baylor, & Andrik Nava each singled.
Notes :
Andrik Nava saw his first game action of the summer, he caught the first three innings. The 19 year old is a player we think has a bright future. He had a very solid 2019 season in the then GCL when he hit .314 in 156 AB’s … has battled the injury bug a bit this season, good to see him back out there.
The Phillies committed five fielding/throwing errors in the game.
