Andrew McCutchen led off the game with a long home run to straightaway center field.
Miami tied the game in the second inning on singles by Matt Joyce ( advanced to second on a FC ) and Jazz Chisholm ( RBI ).
Rafael Marchan recorded his first major league hit ( a single to center field ) in his first big league AB in the third inning.
Miami’s Jesus Aguilar doubled in two runs in the third inning scoring Corey Dickerson and Starling Marte ( both singled ).
Brian Anderson doubled to score Miguel Rojas ( singled ) to plate another Marlins run in the fourth inning. The skipper lifted starter Vince Velasquez after two outs were recorded. Blake Parker struck out Starling Marte to end the inning and strand Anderson at second base.
Velasquez came up small as a starter once again in what may have been his most important Phillies start to date ... the inconsistency of making quality pitches is frustrating, especially with 0-2 or 1-2 counts 🥴 ... he went 3 2/3 innings - 4 R, 7 H, 1 BB, 5 K’s - 76 pitches - 46 strikes.
Blake “Wiggles” Parker struck out the side in a scoreless fifth inning. He’s been very good this season, actually last season also ... hard to believe he couldn’t even get a contract over the off season and re-signed with the Phillies on a minor league deal.
Miguel Rojas led off the sixth inning with a home run against David Phelps.
Starling Marte led off the seventh inning with a home run against David Phelps.
Phelps went 1 1/3 innings ...2 R, 2 H, 2 K’s ... Adam Morgan finished the seventh inning out.
Scott Kingery hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.
The Phillies were held to just three hits in the game.

Unbelievable 😳
Pablo Sandavol has signed a contract with the Atlanta Braves ... he was released by the Giants.
Tomorrow is another day but unless the energy level picks up the game outcome isn’t likely to change 🥴.
