Notes :

Donny Sands was activated from the injured list prior to the game.

The organization also announced the signing of LHP Jace Fry - he’s 28 years old and was drafted in the third round of the 2014 draft by the White Sox. Fry had signed as a minor league free agent with the Washington Nationals this offseason. He was pitching for Rochester at the AAA level ( 15 games - 14 1/3 IP - 3.77 ERA - 20 K’s, 8 BB ). Washington released him on June 24th. Fry pitched in 162 major league games with the White Sox ( 139 1/3 IP ) from 2017 to 2021 - all but one as a reliever. He’s a sinker/slider hurler, fastball is noted for it’s late life rather than straight velocity - generally sits in the 93-95 mph range. Issues have been command - he had a very good 2018 rookie season with the White Sox - attempting to rediscover that form.
