International League ( AAA ) - Buffalo 3 ( 36-26 ) Lehigh Valley 2 ( 34-29 )


Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park


Summary :


Buffalo scored a run in the fourth on a walk & three singles. Stevie Berman homered for them in the sixth inning. They scored another run in the seventh - Logan Warmoth singled, took two stolen bases and the scored on a groundout.


Dalton Guthrie singled to score Scott Kingery ( doubled ) in the 8th inning.


Scott Kingery homered in the ninth inning.


On The Hill :


LH Ricardo Sanchez - 6 IP, 2 R, 6 H, 2 BB, 6 K’s - 97 pitches - 60 strikes

LH Zach Warren - 1 IP, 1 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K - 15 pitches - 8 strikes

Scott Kingery Dalton Guthrie & Will Toffey each had two hits , Kingery doubled and homered. Both of Toffey’s hits were doubles. Guthrie & Mickey Moniak each doubled.

Summary :


Portland scored twice in the third inning on three singles and the old double steal ( second base & home ) which has become somewhat common place in the minors this season 🤷‍♂️.


Josh Ockimey hit a three run home run in the 4th inning scoring Vito Friscia & Logan O’Hoppe ( both singled ) in front of him.


Jack Conley hit a two run home run in the 6th inning scoring Vito Friscia ( walked ). Jack Conley delivered a two run single in the seventh inning.


On The Hill :


RH Bubby Rossman - 2 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s - 19 pitches - 15 strikes

RH Billy Sullivan - 1 IP, 2 R, 3 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 26 pitches - 20 strikes

Defensive Gem :


Right Fielder Hunter Markwardt made a long running catch in the right field corner and flipped over the fence after the catch 😳 - the young fella has no fear of fences !

South Atlantic League ( High A ) - Jersey Shore 10 ( 24- 36 ) Aberdeen 4 ( 40-20 )


Lakewood, NJ - Shoretown Ballpark


Summary :


TT Bowers doubled in the second inning for Aberdeen, moved to third on a single and scored on a groundout.


Herbert Iser hit a two run home run in the bottom of the second inning.


Aberdeen plated three in the third inning on two doubles, two singles and two hit batters.


The Blue Claws loaded the bases in the fourth inning - Herbert Iser singled, Uziel Viloria & Carlos De La Cruz walked. Ethan Wilson singled to plate two. Johan Rojas hit a sac fly to score a third run.


DJ Stewart went yard in the 5th inning, his 5th home run of the season.


Uziel Viloria walked in the sixth inning, went to third on a double by Carlos De La Cruz and scored on a sac fly by Ethan Wilson. De La Cruz then scored on a passed ball. Johan Rojas walked, stole second and then scored on a throwing error by the catcher on the play 😳.


DJ Stewart hit his second home run of the game in the seventh inning.


On The Hill :

RH Cristian Hernandez - 3 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 48 pitches - 31 strikes

DJ Stewart had three hits including two home runs. Herbert Iser had two hits including a home run. Carlos De La Cruz doubled, Uziel Viloria walked twice and scored two runs. Ethan Wilson had three RBIs. Johan Rojas stole his 31st base of the season.


Notes :


Anthony Quirion was hit by a pitch in the second inning and had to leave the game.

Florida State League ( Low A ) - Palm Beach 7 ( 27-31 ) Clearwater 5 ( 29-30 ) - thirteen innings

Clearwater, FL - BayCare BallPark


Summary :


After a scoreless first inning the game was delayed due to lightning and rain. Play didn’t resume until 8:30 PM ( over one and half hours ) which cost each team their starting pitchers.


Aaron McKeithan homered in the top of the second inning when play resumed.


Andrik Nava delivered an RBI single in the fifth inning.


Arturo De Freitas homered in the sixth inning.


Palm Beach loaded the bases on two walks and a hit batter in the seventh. Another hit batter forced in a run. Jhon Torres then poked a double to the right field line to score two runs.


With two outs and two strikes on him in the bottom of the ninth inning Marcus Lee Sang hit a two run home run scoring Albert Jerez ( walked ) in front of him to tie the game !


Tommy McCollum pitched two perfect innings ( 9th & 10th ) to give his team a chance to win.


Jamari Baylor pinch ran as the placed runner in the bottom of the tenth, he advanced to third on a ground out by Leandro Pineda. He was stranded there though as the next two batters struck out and popped out.


Palm Beach sacrifice bunted the placed runner to third in the top of the 11th. Adanson Cruz grounded to shortstop but Kendall Simmons throw to the plate was beaten by the runner and the Cardinals took the lead.


Albert Jerez singled to score pinch placed runner Erick Brito in the bottom of the eleventh to send the game to the 12th inning.

Marcus Lee Sang made a diving catch in the top of the twelfth to record the second out - Jared Wetherbee punched the other two outs to complete a scoreless inning.


Wilfredo Flores was the placed runner in the bottom of the 12th, with one out he stole third base. He was stranded there as the next two hitters struck out.

Palm Beach bunted the placed runner to third on a sacrifice to start the 13th. Jeremy Rivas singled to score the placed runner. Two more hits scored another run.


The game started at 6:33 PM - with the lengthy weather delay included the game concluded at 12:18 AM 🥴
