1/1/23 : Phillies Sign Infielder Jim Haley to minor league contract

Jim Haley ( 27 years old ) has reached an agreement on a minor league contract with the Phillies.  He played the 2022 season with the AAA level Durham Bulls in the Tampa Rays organization hitting 18 home runs and driving in 47 runs.  He posted a .231./.306/.440 slash line in 420 plate appearances appearing in 116 games.  Haley played primarily first base but also saw time at 3B,LF,SS and 2B.  He’s seen as a corner infielder.

He’s from Upper Darby, PA and was the Rays 19th round draft selection in the 2016 draft from Penn State University.  Jim was a three year letter winner at Bonner and Prendergast Catholic High School in Philadelphia and won the Philadelphia Catholic League MVP award in 2013.
