Australian Baseball League :
The brunt of the Phillies league contingent plays for the Adelaide Giants.
1/14 : Adelaide 4 (25-11) Sydney 2 (11-25)
Cade Fergus went 2 for 3 (singles, home run, SB (10th), run scored and RBI) while Rixon Wingrove and Nick Ward (former Phillies minor leaguer now with the Atlanta Braves organization) each singled.
1/13 : Adelaide 14 (24-11) Sydney 3 (11-24)
Cade Fergus (two singles and a triple) and Andrick Nava (two singles and a double) each had three hits. Rixon Wingrove (single and double, two RBIs) and Nick Ward (also walked, three runs scored, RBI) had two hits each. LH Braeden Fausnaught started and pitched 3.1 innings (1 R, 5 H, 4 BB, 4 K’s - 73 pitches - 44 strikes). RH Josh Bortka pitched 1.2 innings (1 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 29 pitches - 15 strikes).
1/12 : Adelaide 7 (23-11) Sydney 1 (11-23)
Rixon Wingrove singled, walked three times and scored twice. Nick Ward singled, walked and had two RBIs. Cade Fergus walked twice in four plate appearances. RHP Cam Wynne pitched two innings in relief (1 unearned R, 3 H, 2 BB, 1 K - 33 pitches - 19 strikes).
1/11 : Adelaide 4 (22-11) Sydney 0 (11-22)
Newly signed Phillies minor league LHP Lachlan Wells was once again outstanding going six shutout innings, he tied the Adelaide single game record by posting 14 strikeouts allowing just two hits and one walk. Lachlan threw 87 pitches with 67 of them for strikes. On the season he’s now got an incredible 0.63 ERA in 8 appearances (43 IP) with 60 strikeouts and a minuscule 5 walks - opponents are hitting just .158 against him and his WHIP is 0.67 👀🔥 - I’d say that Phillies area scouting cross checker Howie Norsetter (a legend in his own right) made a great decision when inking Lachlan to a Phillies contract!
In the contest former Phillies minor league RHP Austin Ross allowed only one hit in an inning of relief work. Former Phillies minor leaguer Nick Ward was 2 for 5 with a run scored and RBI. He’s now hitting .333 with a .407 OBP in 120 AB’s and is certainly in the running for the league MVP award. Rixon Wingrove and Cade Fergus each singled in the contest.
Dominican Professional Baseball League :
1/13 : Former Phillies RHP Adonis Medina pitched 1.2 scoreless innings of relief (1 H, 1 K) for Tigres del Licey in a 1-0 loss to Estrellas Orientales.
Venezuelan Professional Baseball League :
1/13 : He’s not a former Phillie player but each time I check box scores outfielder Yasiel Puig seems to have done something really good - he went 3 for 6 with two singles, a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs for Tiburones de La Guaira in a 8-5 playoff game win over Bravos de Margarita. The former Dodger, Red and Guardian slashed .418/.518/.846 in 26 games (110 PA’s) with 7 doubles, 10 home runs and 23 RBIs for La Guaria in the regular season this winter. He’s now 33 years old.
1/11 : Former Phillies minor leaguer Ali Castillo went 2 for 3 for Bravos de Margarita against Leones del Caracas.

Braeden Fausnaught has posted a 2.79 ERA in 9 appearances (5 starts) for Adelaide in 29 IP, WHIP is 1.55 and win/loss record is 4-2. He’s a graduate of West Chester University (my alma mater 🤓) who was signed by the Phillies on 8/1/22.
