Dominican Winter League : Round Robin Playoff Tournament :
1/13/26 :
Aguilas Cibaenas 4 (8-6) Gigantes del Cibao 3 (2 -12) - 11 innings - RHP Jonathan Hernandez pitched a scoreless inning (1 BB, 1 K - 11 pitches - 6 strikes) for the Aguilas.
Toros del Este 3 (8-6) Leones del Escogido 1 (10-4) - Bryan De La Cruz (RF) was 1 for 4 (double) for the Toros.
1/14/26 :
Leones del Escogido 5 (11-4) Gigantes del Cibao 1 (2 -13) - RHP Aidan Anderson pitched 1.1 perfect innings (1 K) and RHP Joel Cesar 1.1 scoreless frames (1 BB, 1 K) for the Gigantes. RHP Hector Neris pitched an inning (1 R, 1 H, 1 K) for the Leones.

Caribes de Anzoategui 9 (5-2) Cardenales de Lara 8 (4-2) - Aldrem Corredor (1B) was 1 for 4 (double) with a walk and three runs scored for the Caribes.

Cangrejeros de Santurce 8 (2-0) Leones de Ponce 2 (0-2) - William Simoneit (C) was 1 for 4 (single) for the Leones.

Australian Baseball League :
1/15/26 ;
Adelaide Giants 6 (18-17) Perth Heat 1 (15-20) - Nick Ward (2B) was 4 for 4 (three singles & HR) with a walk, two RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Giants. Manolfi Jimenez (LF) went 3 for 4 (singles) with a run scored, Devin Saltiban (CF) and Mitchell Edwards (C) each singled and Jose Colmenares (SS) doubled. Jordan McArdle (DH) went 2 for 4 (singles) with a walk and RBI. The Giants need one more victory in the remaining four games of the series to secure a spot in the league championship series opposite the regular season champion Sydney Blue Sox.
Brisbane Bandits 11 (15-21) Sydney Blue Sox 5 (23-13) - Rixon Wingrove (1B) went 1 for 4 (double) with a walk and two runs scored for Brisbane.
This is the fourth season that Nick Ward has played for the Adelaide Giants - the Kennett Square, PA native has decided to retire afterwards as a player and is seeking to become a coach (would be a great hire as a minor league developmental coach by an MLB organization!). He’s been a player coach for Adelaide this season. I remember four years ago having a phone conversation with Nick on the merits of playing in Australia as he weighed that against an offer to play for a winter league team in the Dominican. He’s done very well for himself and is once again positioned for consideration as the league MVP.
