1/22/25 : Phillies sign LHP Tim Mayza to minor league contract

LHP Tim Mayza has signed a minor league contract for the 2026 season with the Phillies. The 34 year old pitched last season with the Phillies and Pirates. He was released by Pittsburgh on 8/30/25 and claimed off waivers by the Phillies and pitched in eight games (7.1 IP) posting a 4.91 ERA. Mayza elected free agency on 11/2/25.


He has appeared in 382 major league games (Toronto, Yankees, Pirates and Phillies) posting a 3.87 ERA in 318.1 innings pitched. The veteran hurler is a local product who graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School and was selected in the 12th round of the 2013 draft from Millersville University.
