Australia :
Melbourne 4 ( 13-7 ) Brisbane 1 ( 6-12 )
Josh Tols pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings for Melbourne retiring all four batters he faced striking out two of them. Former Phillie Drew Anderson earned his 6th save with two shutout innings to end the game allowing just one hit and striking out three batters.
Adelaide 4 ( 10-8 ) Perth 0 ( 10-7 ) :
Jonathan Hennigan tossed two shutout frames allowing just a walk while striking out three of the seven batters he faced. Jonathan was consistently at 95 mph on the speed gun with his fastball and hasn’t given up an earned run in any of his ABL outings ... the lefty would seem to deserve an invitation to big league spring training camp whenever that kicks in 🤔.
Austin Ross struck out the side in a scoreless eighth inning of work allowing just a single. Austin has also yet to allow an earned run in any of his ABL outings.
Catcher Colby Fitch went 3 for 3 with a walk and a run scored for the Giants.
Todd Van Steensel closed out the win with a four strikeout ninth inning 😳. One of the batters reached base on an errant throw to first after the third strike pitch went array.
Puerto Rico :
Caguas defeated Mayaguez 7-6 to sweep the championship series 4 games to none.
Venezuela :
Caribes defeated Lara 9-6 to take a 3-0 lead in the best of seven championship series. Former Phillies minor leaguer Ali Castillo had four hits and two RBIs for Caribes.
