Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues from games played on 1/24 and 1/25 (Australia) . Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Australian Baseball League : Championship Series : best of three - Adelaide wins third title in past four years!
Adelaide Giants 6 (2-1) Sydney Blue Sox 2 (1-2)
Nick Ward (2B) has played each of the past four seasons for the Adelaide Giants and ended three of them as a league champion including this season as he went 1 for 4 (double) with a walk and run scored in the final game of the 2026 ABL season and of his playing career. Nick will now embark on a coaching career this summer. Devin Saltiban(CF) was 1 for 3 (single) with a walk and run scored. Robbie Glendinning (RF) was 1 for 4 (double) with a walk, RBI and run scored. Raylin Heredia (LF) was 1 for 5 (single) as was Mitchell Edwards (C). Jose Colmenares (SS) went 2 for 4 (singles) with a walk, RBI and run scored. LHP Josh Hendrickson pitched 5.2 innings (2 R, 6 H, 4 BB, 7 K’s) and right handers Todd Van Steensel and Danyony Pulido (1 H, 1 K) each pitched a scoreless frame in the eighth and ninth innings to close out the win - a 3-6-3 double play ended the contest!
Congrats to all the Phillies and former Phillies on the Giants squad for a great season and to skipper Chris “Tank” Adamson and Coach Nerluis Martinez. A job well done!
