Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues.
Dominican Winter League :
1/26/25 action : the Tigres del Licey defeated the Leones del Escogido 7-4 in thirteen innings to tie the league championship series after six games played and force a decisive seventh game. Johan Rojas went 3 for 6 (two singles & double) with a stolen base for the Tigres.
Mexican Pacific League :
1/26/25 action : the Charros de Jalisco defeated the Tomateros de Culiacán 3-2 with a walk-off run in the ninth inning to take a 3-2 lead in the championship series.
Venezuela Winter League :
1/25/25 action : the Cardenales de Lara defeated the Bravos de Margarita 9-0 in game six of the championship match to win the league championship series 4 games to 2. Former Phillies catcher Wilson Ramos received a standing ovation in the seventh inning of the game for the Bravos - it was his last game as an active player after eleven seasons played in the league as he previously announced his retirement. Ramos could still play for the Cardenales as a selected reserve in the upcoming Caribbean Series as he put his name on the volunteer list for the tournament in Mexico.
Australian Baseball League :
The Perth Heat will host the Canberra Calvery in the best of three league championship series beginning on 1/31/25.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
The season is complete - the Indios de Mayaguez were crowned champions.
Colombia Winter League :
The season is complete - the Caimanes de Barranquilla were crowned champions.
Nicaragua Winter League :
The season is complete - the Leones de Leon were crowned champions.
Panama Winter League :
The season is complete - the Águilas Metropolitanas were crowned champions.
