While the light shines brightly on the Phillies in the playoffs as it should here’s a few notes on the minor league fellas as well, just sayin 😎⚾️
Arizona Fall League :
The Phillies are part of the Scottsdale team this year. Here are some game notes.
10/6/23 : Surprise 9 (2-3) Scottsdale 6 (3-1)
Matt Kroon was in the lineup playing third base, he went 0 for 3 with an RBI.
10/7/23 : Mesa 1 (3-3) Scottsdale 0 (3-2)
Gabriel Rincones Jr played left field and went 0 for 4. Oliver Dunn played second base and went 1 for 3 with a triple and walk. Matt Kroon played third base and was 0 for 3 with a walk. Caleb Ricketts played first base and was 0 for 3.
RHP Dominic Pipkin pitched a scoreless inning, one walk and one strikeout - 14 pitches - 7 strikes. LHP Jordi Martinez pitched a scoreless frame, one hit, one strikeout - 14 pitches - 12 strikes.
10/9/23 : Surprise 7 (3-4) Scottsdale 6 (3-3)
Gabriel Rincones Jr played left field and went 2 for 4 with a single, double and walk. He had an RBI and scored a run. RHP Andrew Baker pitched a scoreless inning striking out a batter. He allowed no hits or walks, facing just four batters - 12 pitches - 8 strikes - he threw seven sliders (83 to 85 mph) and five four seamers (96 to 98 mph).
10/10/23 : Surprise 17 (4-4) Scottsdale 5 (3-4)
Gabriel Rincones Jr went one for four with a double, walk, RBI and run scored. Caleb Ricketts was 2 for 5 with two singles, he played first base. Matt Kroon played third base and was 0 for 2 with a walk and RBI. RHP Dominic Pipkin pitched two thirds of an inning and was charged with one unearned run on two hits, two of two inherited runners also scored. He threw 14 pitches - 8 for strikes. LHP Jordi Martinez pitched 1 1/3 innings, no runs, one hit, one strikeout - 17 pitches - 11 strikes, he stranded one inherited runner.
10/11/23 : Scottsdale 9 (4-4) Mesa 8 (3-6)
Oliver Dunn led off and played shortstop, he went 2 for 5 with a double and home run, scored twice and had two RBIs. Gabriel Rincones Jr batted second and played left field - he went 2 for 4 with a double, home run and walk with two RBIs and three runs scored.
