The Phillies are part of the Scottsdale team this year.
1017/23 : Scottsdale 7 (8-5) Mesa 5 (4-10)
Right fielder Gabriel Rincones Jr went 2 for 5 with a double and home run, he also walked. Gabriel drove in two runs and scored three times. Third baseman Matt Kroon was 1 for 3 with a home run and walk. He had two RBIs.
Andrew Baker threw a scoreless inning in relief, no hits, two walks and three strikeouts. He threw 23 pitches - 11 for strikes.
10/18/23 : Scottsdale 9 (9-5) Surprise 8 (8-7)
The Scorpions scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth for a walk-off win! Oliver Dunn drew a bases loaded walk for the victory. He went 2 for 4 in the game with a double, triple and two walks. Oliver scored three runs and had an RBI as the lead off hitter (played second base). He’s now hitting a robust .419 in league play with a 1.320 OPS. Left fielder Gabriel Rincones Jr was 3 for 4 in the game with two singles and a triple, he also walked, scored three runs and had two RBIs - now hitting .348 with a 1.048 OPS. Matt Kroon played third base and went 4 for 4 with four singles, two RBIs and a run scored raising his average to .300 and OPS to .838. Caleb Ricketts played first base and went 2 for 3 with two singles, a walk and RBI. The four Phillies hitters combined for eleven of the team’s thirteen hits in the game! Dancing on their own like the big club 🤓.
Mitch Neunborn pitched two innings in relief - two runs on four hits, a walk and three strikeout, three inherited runners also scored. He threw 33 pitches - 21 for strikes.
