10/5/25 : Bounce Back

Tough loss - the hits weren’t delivered when opportunities were presented - key outs weren’t recorded when needed - that’s baseball sometimes. The other team is pretty damn good as well.

Resiliency has a short memory - it moves forward - learns from the past. One loss doesn’t end the series - the capability and capacity to bounce back has been shown before by this crew and can be found again. Champions don’t go silent when things don’t go well but rather bounce back and continue to fight, to work, to step up to the expected standard.

Teams that work hard and smart can overcome singular defeats, can cover for those injured, can prevail when backed against the wall. The primary obstacle against doing so is a lack of belief that they can.

There is no room in the village of support for such disbelief - no time to place past blame - no place to blame past times. Energy is found in positivity - while I think that there is no true home field advantage in playoff action between top level teams there is a will of the way, an influence of fortuity and a collective spirit that can be profound.

The Phillies have established a standard of performance and success. They expect to win each game they play, they intend to protect their standard with intensity, integrity, belief, collaboration and confidence. There can be no wavering, each pitch, swing and play must reflect that. Each person on the team must provision an impact in whatever way they are given to do so.

It’s time to bounce back, to even the count, to set up what comes thereafter. The resilient  grind knows no end, it keeps moving forward.

No excuses, no complaints - just the next play.

Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
