Florida Complex League Awards :
First baseman Dakota Kotowski has been named the 2023 Florida Complex league MVP. Dakota hit a league leading fifteen home runs and also clubbed eight doubles and a triple driving in thirty four runs. He hit .287 in 150 AB’s and posted a .397 OBP and 1.050 OPS.
Right handed pitcher Guissepe Velasquez was named a league all-star. In eight appearances (twenty IP) he recorded a 1.35 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP with 28 strikeouts and nine walks. Opponents hit just .159 against him.
Along with Justin Crawford the FCL MVP award that Dakota Kotowski has won means that the Phillies had two players earn league MVP honors as Crawford was named the Florida State League MVP for his play with the Clearwater Threshers earlier this year.

The Phillies are part of the Scottsdale team this year.

RHP Christian McGowan made his first appearance. He started and threw four scoreless innings, three hits, one walk and two strikeouts - forty pitches - twenty-six strikes. Andrew Baker pitched an inning, no runs, one hit, two walks - seventeen pitches - six strikes. Mitch Neunborn pitched two innings, two runs, four hits, no walks, one hit batter- three strikeouts - forty-two pitches - twenty-nine strikes.
Gabriel Rincones Jr was in the lineup batting second and playing left field - he went one for four with a single. Caleb Ricketts started behind the plate - he went 0 for 4.
