11/11/2020 : Another Major/Minor League PDA Update -

As we stand by in the Clearwater area and wait for Hurricane/Tropical Storm Eta to pass thru here’s another minor league player development agreement update.  Hopefully the full agreement will be announced soon as we continue to wind our way down the pathway to a conclusion ( see how I worked the photo in there 😬🤪).  In the interim I’ll repeat the tidbits as I read them.   JJ Cooper of Baseball America leads the way in reporting on this stuff.

Pay Raises :

The minimum weekly salary for players on Rookie-level and short-season teams will increase from $290 to $400 (a raise of roughly 38 percent), players at Class A will move from $290 to $500 (72 percent), Double-A will jump from $350 to $600 (71 percent) and Triple-A will increase from $502 to $700 (39 percent).

Minor leaguers are paid from Opening Day until the last game of the season, which means players at short-season will now earn roughly $4,800 for their three-month season, players in Class A will make around $10,000 for a five-month season, Double-A players will earn $12,000 and Triple-A players will earn a minimum of $14,000.

Some More Team Affiliation News

The Minnesota Twins have announced they have reached agreement with the St Paul Saints to become their AAA affiliate.  The Rochester Red Wings, formerly aligned with the Twins will become the AAA affiliate of the Washington Nationals.  Last season the Nationals AAA affiliate was the Fresno Grizzlies.  Fresno is moving to the Class A level with a new team affiliation.

More changes to come ...
