Phillies LHP prospect Kyle Young has voluntarily retired. Kyle was the Phillies 22nd round draft selection in the 2016 draft out of Saint Dominic High School in New York.
He had Tommy John surgery during the 2019 season and was working his way back into action. Kyle told me he had reached a point where it didn’t feel good to keep going and decided to submit his retirement papers.
We wish him well, still plenty of great things ahead for the 22 year old young man. He’s always been destined to succeed in life regardless of whether baseball is involved. We appreciate the opportunity to have gotten to know him for a little bit of it.
