Winter League Play
Dominican League :
RHP Ramon Rosso has pitched in two games ( one start ) thus far for Aguilas Cibaenas without allowing a run. He started on Friday ( 11/20 ) against Aguilas Cibaenas and tossed three perfect innings while striking out three batters. In total he’s thrown five innings without allowing a hit and has recorded five strikeouts and one walk.

A local Philly fella :
Outfielder Chas McCormick from West Chester, PA and Millersville University is playing for Leones del Escogido. He’s part of the Houston Astros organization.
Note : Play was halted until at least Monday for the Leones and Tigres teams due to COVID issues incurred.
Mexican League :
RHP Fernando Lozano is 2-0 with a 1.86 ERA in 7 games ( 1 start ) over 9 2/3 IP for Aguilas de Mexicali. Lozano is a 20 year old who signed with the Phillies in April of 2019 and went 5-0 with a 1.99 ERA in 17 games ( 31 2/3 IP ) for Phillies West in the 2019 Gulf Coast League. He’s very mature in his approach to pitching, knows how to set up hitters and record outs. It’s pretty cool that at his young age he’s competing in a winter league that’s full of advanced hitters ... great growing experience for the young hurler.
Twenty year old LHP Erubiel Armenta has pitched in five games for Caneros de los Mochis and has posted a 1.80 ERA in five games ( 5 IP ) with 4 K’s and 1 BB. He signed with the Phillies in July of 2019 and has not played an official game for the Phillies yet however has thrown a bit in the “tricky league” at the Dominican Academy. Another young pitcher gaining some valuable experience this off season.
1B Darick Hall made his debut for Caneros de Los Mochis on Friday.
