Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in fall/winter leagues from games played on 11/6. Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Arizona Fall League :
Dante Nori (CF) went 2 for 4 (single and inside the park two run HR) with a run scored, two RBIs and stolen base for the Surprise Saguaros in an 8-0 win against the Salt River Rafters. Dante now has a .375/.459/.531 slash line in ten games (37 plate appearances) with a .991 OPS with two doubles, a home run and seven RBIs for the AFL season. I’ve said many times over his style of play and build remind me greatly of Lenny Dykstra. Bryan Rincon played shortstop in the game for Surprise. RHP Jaydenn Estanista pitched an inning (0 R, 0 H, 2 BB, 1 K - 27 pitches - 12 strikes) for Surprise and RHP Tommy McCollum went 2/3 of an inning (0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 1 K - 15 pitches - 10 strikes).
RHP Jack Dallas (1.00 ERA - 4 games - 9 IP -15 K’s, 7 walks) has been named to the All-Star game roster representing Surprise and the Phillies. SS Starlyn Caba (79 PA’s - 2 doubles, 2 home runs, 10 RBIs, 12 walks, .313/.418/.433 and .851 OPS) has also earned a spot in the game representing the Mesa Solar Sox and the Miami Marlins.
Dominican Winter League :
RHP Ofreidy Gomez pitched a scoreless inning in relief for the Tigres del Licey in a 7-1 win against the Aguilas Cibaena.
Mexican Winter League :
RHP Efrain Contreras pitched 1.1 innings (0 R, 2 H, 2 K’s) for the Yaquis de Obregón in a 2-0 win against the Charros de Jalisco. RHP Fernando Salas pitched a scoreless inning (1 H, 2 BB, 1 K) for the Naranjeros de Hermosillo in a 8-5 loss to the Algodoneros de Guasave. RHP Pedro Reyes went three innings (2 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 1 K) for the Tomateros de Culiacán in a 3-1 loss to the Cañeros de Los Mochis. LHP Taylor Lehman pitched a scoreless inning (1 H, 2 K’s) for the Jaguares de Nayarit in a 4-2 win over the Tucson Baseball Team.
Venezuela Winter League :
Ali Castillo (1B) was 3 for 5 (singles) for the Aguilas del Zulia in a 7-2 win over the Navegantes del Magallanes. RHP Luis Pacheco pitched a perfect inning in relief (1 K) for the Bravos de Margarita in a 10-9 ten inning loss to the Leones del Caracas. Rafael Marchan (DH) went 0 for 3 with a walk for the Tiburones de La Guaira in a 2-1 ten inning loss to the Tigres de Aragua.
LHP Ethan Lindow is joining the Aguilas del Zulia club.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
RHP Alexis Rivero pitched a scoreless inning to close out a 4-1 win for the Indios De Mayaguez over the Senadores De San Juan in the opening game of the league for this season.
RHP Noah Skirrow, RHP Carlos Francisco,LHP Keylan Kilgore and OF Danny Ortiz are also on the Mayaguez roster.
UTL Dalton Guthrie will be playing for the Leones de Ponce.
RHP Jose Pena Jr , LHP Tristan Garnett and RHP Andrew Baker are members of the Cangrejeros de Santurce team.
