RHP Kyle Brnovich has agreed to a minor league contract with the Phillies for the 2026 season.

The 28 year old initially played last season for the Baltimore Orioles organization making 15 appearances (14 starts) for AAA level Norfolk. He posted a 6.34 ERA in 61 IP and was released on 8/7 - then signed by the Colorado Rockies on 8/12 finishing the season with their AAA affiliate in Albuquerque making 7 appearances (4 starts). In October he declared free agency. Kyle has an career 4.82 ERA in 75 minor league games (57 starts) over 287.1 IP with 329 K’s and 117 walks.

Brnovich was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the 8th round of the 2019 draft from Elon University and was traded to the Orioles that December, never pitched in a game for the Angels organization. He’s noted for often pitching backwards with a knuckle-curve as his primary, his fastball sits in the 93-94 mph range and has touched 96 mph.  He also has a slider and curve. Will provide upper level depth in starting and bulk relief pitching assignments.

From a fan’s view welcome to the Phillies Kyle!

Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
