Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in fall/winter leagues from games played on 12/11 and 12/12 (Australia). Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Dominican Winter League :
Johan Rojas (DH) went 1 for 4 (single) for the Gigantes del Cibao in a 1-0 loss to the Tigres del Licey. Robert Moore (2B) was 1 for 2 (double) with two walks and two runs scored for the Aguilas Cibaenas in a 5-0 win over the Leones del Escogido.
Mexican Winter League :
Joey Meneses (1B) was 3 for 5 (two singles & double) with two RBIs and a run scored, Jon Singleton (DH) 2 for 5 (singles) with a run scored and LHP Anthony Gose pitched a scoreless inning (1 H, 1 K) for the Tomateros de Culiacán in a 7-6 win against the Cañeros de Los Mochis. Nick Williams (RF) went 2 for 4 (singles) with two runs scored for the Caneros.
Venezuela Winter League :
Wilson Garcia (DH) was 2 for 5 (singles) for the Bravos de Margarita in a 8-5 loss to the Tigres de Aragua. He has posted a .304/.345/.578 slash line and .923 OPS in 40 games (174 PA’s) with 8 doubles, 12 home runs and 44 RBIs for the season. Great numbers for the 31 year old veteran Venezuelan who has played minor league ball in multiple organizations including the Phillies from 2011 to 2018.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
LHP Keylan Killgore pitched two perfect innings (1 K) for the Indios de Mayaguez in a 9-0 loss to the Gigantes de Carolina. RHP Yacksel Rios pitched two scoreless innings (1 H, 1 BB) for the Criollos de Caguas in a 4-2 win against the Senadores de San Juan.
Australian Baseball League :
Devin Saltiban (CF) went 2 for 4 (two HR’s) with three RBIs and two runs scored, Alirio Ferrebus (1B) 1 for 4 with a double, RBI and run scored, Nick Ward (2B-1B) 1 for 4 with a walk and two runs scored, Mitchell Edwards (C) 1 for 4 (single) with an RBI and LHP Camron Hill pitched 3.2 innings (1 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 5 K’s - 59 pitches - 38 strikes) for the Adelaide Giants in a 9-7 win against the Brisbane Bandits. RHP Todd Van Steensel struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning to seal the win. Rixon Wingrove (1B) was 3 for 5 (two singles & double) with two RBIs for Brisbane.
