Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues from games played on 12/16. Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Dominican Winter League :
The Aguilas Cibaenas and Leones del Escogido split a double header - RHP Hector Neris pitched a scoreless inning (1 H, 1 K) for the Leones in game one. Robert Moore (2B) was 4 for 8 (single, double, triple, HR) with a walk, four RBIs and a run scored in the two games for the Aguilas. The Gigantes del Cibao swept a doubleheader from the Toros del Este - Bryan De La Cruz (RF) was 1 for 5 (single) with a run scored in game two for the Toros. The Estrellas Orientales swept a doubleheader from the Tigres del Licey. LHP Jordi Martinez pitched a perfect inning in relief (two strikeouts) in game two for the Tigres.
Mexican Winter League :
Jorge Flores (SS) was 1 for 4 (double) for the Algodoneros de Guasave in a 2-0 loss to the Cañeros de Los Mochis.
Venezuela Winter League :
RHP Max Castillo pitched five innings (2 R, 5 H, 3 BB, 3 K’s) for the Cardenales de Lara in a 13-6 win against the Aguilas del Zulia. Aldrem Corredor (1B) went 4 for 5 (two singles, double, HR) with two runs scored and four RBIs for the Leones del Caracas in a 8-7 win against the Caribes de Anzoategui. RHP Cristian Hernandez pitched 2/3 of an inning (0 R, 1 BB) for the Caribes in the game. Carlos Tocci (CF) was 3 for 3 (two singles & a double) with two walks and two runs scored for the Tiburones de La Guaira in a 10-9 win against the Tigres de Aragua.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
RHP Carlos Francisco pitched a scoreless inning (1 H) for the Indios de Mayaguez in a 1-0 win over the Gigantes de Carolina.
