Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues from games played on 12/18, 12/19 and 12/20 (Australia). Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Dominican Winter League :
12/19 : Bryan De La Cruz went 1 for 4 (single) for the Toros del Este in a 5-4 ten inning loss to the Leones del Escogido. Rodolfo Castro (3B) went 2 for 4 (singles) with a walk, RBI and run scored for the Estrellas Orientales in a 4-3 win against the Gigantes del Cibao. RHP Adonis Medina pitched five scoreless innings (2 H, 1 BB, 5 K’s - 73 pitches - 51 strikes) for the Tigres del Licey in a 4-2 win against the Aguilas Cibaenas. RHP Jonh Henriquez pitched a scoreless inning (2 BB) for the Aguilas.
Mexican Winter League :
12/18 : Nick Williams (RF) went 1 for 5 (single) with an RBI for the Cañeros de Los Mochis in a 8-2 win over the Algodoneros de Guasave.
12/19 : Nick Williams (RF) went 1 for 4 (double) for the Cañeros de Los Mochis in a 3-2 win over the Águilas de Mexicali. RHP Orlando Gonzalez pitched 1.2 innings (1 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s - 29 pitches - 17 strikes) and RHP Alan Rangel threw a perfect inning (1 K - 8 pitches - 6 strikes) for the Naranjeros de Hermosillo in a 5-1 win over the Venados de Mazatlán.
Venezuela Winter League :
12/18 : Ali Castillo (2B) went 2 for 4 (singles) with a run scored for the Aguilas del Zulia in a 6-3 win over the Leones del Caracas. Herlis Rodriguez (CF) was 3 for 5 (singles) for the Caribes de Anzoategui in a 4-3 loss to the Cardenales de Lara.
12/19 : Ali Castillo (2B) went 3 for 4 (two singles & a double) with two runs scored for the Aguilas del Zulia in a 14-3 win over the Leones del Caracas.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
12/18 : RHP Carlos Francisco pitched a perfect inning (two strikeouts) for the Indios de Mayaguez in a 4-3 win over the Leones de Ponce. Danny Ortiz (LF) went 2 for 3 (singles) with two runs scored for the Indios.
12/19 : RHP Andrew Baker pitched a perfect inning for the Cangrejeros de Santurce in a 7-2 win against the Indios de Mayaguez. Danny Ortiz (LF) went 2 for 4 (single & double) for the Indios. William Simoneit (C) hit a two run home run for the Leones de Ponce in a 2-1 win against the Criollos de Caguas.
Australian Baseball League :
12/19 : RHP Giuseppe Velasquez pitched 2.1 innings (1 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 39 pitches - 22 strikes) and LHP Camron Hill went one inning (2 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 37 pitches - 23 strikes) for the Adelaide Giants in a 3-2 loss to the Sydney Blue Sox. Nick Ward (2B) was 2 for 4 (singles) and Alirio Ferrebus (C) went 1 for 3 (single) while Devin Saltiban (CF) had his 14 game hitting streak broken by going 0 for 4. Rixon Wingrove (1B) hit a two run home run for the Brisbane Bandits in an 11-0 win against the Perth Heat.
12/20 : the Adelaide Giants swept a doubleheader from the Sydney Blue Sox by counts of 8-4 and 4-3. Nick Ward (2B) was 3 for 7 (two singles and a double) with two walks, a run scored and a RBI while Devin Saltiban (CF) was 3 for 6 (singles) with two walks and two runs scored. Alirio Ferrebus (C) played in the second game and went 2 for 4 (singles). RHP Danyony Pulido pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in game two (3 K’s - 24 pitches - 16 strikes).
