Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in fall/winter leagues from games played on 12/20. Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Dominican Winter League :
RHP Hector Neris pitched a scoreless inning (1 H) for the Leones del Escogido in a 4-1 loss to the Gigantes del Cibao. Bryan De La Cruz (DH) hit his 8th home run of the season for the Toros del Este in a 7-3 loss to the Tigres del Licey. RHP Yunior Marte pitched a perfect inning (1 K) for the Tigres. RHP Jonathan Hernandez pitched a scoreless inning (1 H, 1 K) as did LHP Jhordany Mezquita (1 H, 2 K’s) for the Aguilas Cibaenas in a 4-3 win over the Estrellas Orientales. LHP JP Woodward pitched two scoreless innings (2 H, 1 K) for the Estrellas.
Mexican Winter League :
Nick Williams (RF) homered and scored twice in three at bats for the Cañeros de Los Mochis in a 4-3 win against the Águilas de Mexicali. Esteban Quiroz (2B) was 2 for 4 (single & double) for the Algodoneros de Guasave in a 6-5 loss to the Tomateros de Culiacán.
Venezuela Winter League :
Ali Castillo (2B) went 3 for 4 (singles) with a walk and RBI for the Aguilas del Zulia in a 7-6 win over the Tigres de Aragua. Leandro Pineda (DH) walked twice and scored a run in four plate appearances for the Navegantes del Magallanes in a 6-3 win against the Tiburones de La Guaira. Willians Astudillo (1B) was 2 for 5 (single & double) with two runs scored for the Cardenales de Lara in a 12-3 win against the Leones del Caracas.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
Jan Hernandez (CF) was 2 for 4 (singles) with a run scored and Danny Ortiz (1B) 2 for 4 (single & double) with an RBI for the Gigantes de Carolina in a 4-2 win over the Cangrejeros de Santurce. RHP Yacksel Rios pitched a perfect inning for the Criollos de Caguas in a 2-1 victory against the Indios de Mayaguez. William Simoneit (C) went 3 for 4 (singles) with two RBIs and a run scored for the Leones de Ponce in a 7-1 win against the Senadores de San Juan.
