Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues.
Colombia Winter League :
12/23/24 action : Felix Reyes (3B) had a big game going 4 for 5 with a single and three doubles for Leones de Barranquilla in a 5-4 win against Caimenas de Barranquilla. Big Felix is hitting .358 (29 for 81) for the season which is the third highest in the league for players with more than 80 AB’s. Nolan Beltran (2B) walked twice in four plate appearances and posted an RBI for Tigres de Cartagena in a 6-4 loss to Vaqueros de Monteria.
Panama Winter League :
12/23/24 action : Eduardo Tait went 1 for 6 in doubleheader action for Águilas Metropolitanas as they lost both games to Los Federales de Chiriqui. There are two more days of regular season play left in the four team league after which the playoffs begin.
Dominican Winter League :
12/23/24 action : Rodolfo Castro (3B) went 1 for 4 (double) with a run scored for Estrellas Orientales in a 4-3 win over Toros del Este. Four teams will advance to the round robin playoffs.
Venezuela Winter League :
12/23/24 action : former Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera homered for Tigres de Aragua in a 10-2 win over Leones del Caracas in the wild card game to qualify for the round robin playoffs. The regular season concluded on Monday. Today a draft to add players to the five teams that qualified for the round robin playoffs takes place with the playoffs beginning after Christmas Day.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
12/23/24 action : former Phillies minor league RHP Alexis Rivero pitched a scoreless inning (1 K) for Leones de Ponce in a 8-3 victory against Criollos de Caguas.
Nicaragua Winter League :
12/23/24 action : former Phillies minor league infielder Raul Rivas was 1 for 2 with an RBI and two runs scored for Indios del Boer in a 13-7 win over Tren del Norte.
Mexican Pacific League :
12/23/24 action : no games scheduled.
Australia Winter League :
12/23/24 action : no games scheduled.
