Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in fall/winter leagues from games played on 12/23. Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Dominican Winter League :
RHP Michael Mariot pitched three innings (2 R - 1 earned, 3 H, 0 BB, 4 K’s) for the Toros del Este in a 6-3 win over the Aguilas Cibaenas. Robert Moore (2B) went 0 for 2 in the game for the Aguilas. LHP Jordi Martinez pitched two scoreless innings (1 H, 1 K) for the Tigres del Licey in a 3-2 ten inning loss to the Gigantes del Cibao.
Mexican Winter League :
RHP Orlando Gonzalez pitched two scoreless innings (0 H, 3 K’s - 24 pitches - 18 strikes) for the Naranjeros de Hermosillo in a 4-2 loss to the Cañeros de Los Mochis. Joey Meneses (1B) went 2 for 4 (single & double) with an RBI and two runs scored for the Tomateros de Culiacán in a 3-0 win over the Venados de Mazatlán.
Venezuela Winter League :
RHP Cristian Hernandez pitched 3.1 innings in relief (0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 47 pitches - 34 strikes) for the Caribes de Anzoategui in a 5-3 loss to the Aguilas del Zulia. Ali Castillo (2B) was 2 for 4 (singles) with a walk for the Aguilas. Not a former Phillie but Milwaukee Brewers standout twenty one year old Jackson Chourio (CF) had a great game going 5 for 5 (three singles, double and HR) with four RBIs, a stolen base and two runs scored for the Aguilas.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
RHP Yacksel Rios pitched a perfect ninth inning (1 K) for the Criollos de Caguas in a 7-2 win against the Indios de Mayaguez.
