12/8/24 : Winter League Roundup

Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues.

Dominican Winter League :

12/7/24 action : Center fielder Johan Rojas went 1 for 3 with a single, run scored, RBI and stole his 10th base of the season for Gigantes del Cibao in a 6-3 win against Toros del Este.  Former Phillies minor league RHP Jimmy Cordero pitched a scoreless frame for Leones del Escogido in a 3-2 loss to Estrellas Orientales.

Venezuela Winter League :

12/7/24 action : RF/1B Leandro Pineda went 2 for 5 (two doubles) with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI for Navegantes del Magallanes in an 18-3 romp over Caribes de Anzoategui.  Former Phillies RHP Ramon Rosso pitched four innings (1 R, 3 H, 5 BB, 3 K’s - 69 pitches - 38 strikes) for Aguilas del Zulia in a 2-1 loss to Cardenales de Lara.

Puerto Rico Winter League :

12/7/24 action :  RHP Carlos Francisco threw a scoreless frame (0 H, 0 BB, 1 K) for Indios de Mayaguez in a 6-5 victory against Cangrejeros de Santurce.

Nicaragua Winter League :

12/7/24 action : former Phillies minor league outfielder Jhiandido Tromp went 2 for 3 with an RBI and run scored for Leones de Leon in a 10-7 loss to Indios de Boer.

Panama Winter League :

12/7/24 action : Catcher Eduardo Tait was 1 for 3 with a single, walk and RBI for the Aguilas Metropoltanas in a 18-8 loss  against the Atlanticos de Bocas.

Other News :

Former Phillies infielder Nick Maton has signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox.
