12/9/24 : Winter League Roundup

Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues.

Dominican Winter League :

12/8/24 action : Center fielder Johan Rojas went 1 for 2 with a single, two walks, two stolen bases and a run scored for Gigantes del Cibao in a 5-4 win over Leones del Escogido. Jean Segura (former Phillies second baseman) went 2 for 4 in the game for the Leones.

Venezuela Winter League :

12/8/24 action : third baseman Pedro Martinez was 2 for 4 (double & HR) with four RBIs and two runs scored for Bravos de Margarita in a 7-3 win against Leones del Caracas. Martinez played last season for Reading before being suspended by MLB. Former Phillies outfielder Simon Muzziotti went 2 for 4 (double & HR) for Aguilas del Zulia in a 5-1 loss to Cardenales de Lara. Former Phillies RHP Ricardo Pinto pitched five innings (2 R, 8 H, 3 BB, 6 K’s - 96 pitches - 60 strikes) for Tiburones de La Guaira in a 6-2 win over Tigres de Aragua.  Pinto is now 5-1 on the season.

Mexican Pacific Winter League :

12/8/24 action :  former Phillies RHP Robert Stock pitched six scoreless innings (3 H, 6 BB, 6 K’s - 110 pitches - 58 strikes) for Naranjeros de Hermosillo in a 6-2 win over Tomateros de Culiacán.
