Got to the complex early in the morning today and went up to Bowa Field where I saw four pitchers throw bullpens adjacent to the half field. Archie Bradley and Hector Neris were the first duo followed by Spencer Howard and Chase Anderson. As Bradley and Neris were walking back to the clubhouse after their session they passed by Howard and Anderson. Archie jestfully said to them that he and Neris had set the bar very high during their session and those fellas were gonna have to go a ways to top em 😃.
Spencer must have taken those words to heart as he threw a very sharp bullpen. The mitt noticeably popped when he delivered his fastballs. New Pitching Coach Caleb Cotham watched each session intently and chatted with the hurlers afterwards. He and Anderson had a longer conversation ... if only I could have heard it 🧐.
The infielders came out thereafter and did some low stress fielding drills on the sideline area of the half field. We saw Bohm, Hoskins, Maton, Kingery, Segura,Torreyes and Miller participate.
I left for a bit thereafter ... drove back home to eat breakfast ... a fella has to stay nourished ya know 🍳...
Returned to the Complex shortly around 11:30 and walked on the Rheam Wilson Trail to get behind Roberts Field. We saw Zach Wheeler, Brandon Kintzler, Michael Ynoa and Ramon Rosso throw live bullpens. Wheeler looked sharp, seemed like good pop on the heater. One of my personal favorites, Mr Rosso, also looked to have a good bit of giddy up in his deliveries. No hitter tagged anything hard except for a liner to left center field hit by Brad Miller. The hitting group consisted of Miller, Rhys Hoskins, Jean Segura, Alec Bohm, Ronald Torreyes and Scott Kingery.
That was it for the day for me. Back at em tomorrow.
Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
