Blue Jays 8 ( 10-6 ) Phillies 3 ( 8-7-1 ) @ Clearwater
Summary :
George Springer led off the third inning with a home run to right center field. Toronto scored two more runs in the inning on two singles, a walk, a sacrifice fly by Daulton Varsho and a fielding error by third baseman Alec Bohm.
Matt Chapman doubled for the Jays in the 5th inning and scored on a double by Daulton Varsho.
Josh Harrison blasted a two run home run in the fifth inning, it hit the roof of the Tiki bar in left field. Jake Cave doubled and then scored on a single by Dalton Guthrie.
Toronto added four runs in the ninth inning including two that scored on a home run by Zach Britton.
Defensive Gems :
Josh Harrison made a leaping catch and tag on a throw from Catcher Aramis Garcia in the first inning to get Bo Bichette at second base on a steal attempt.
Right fielder Dalton Guthrie threw a runner out at second base in the third inning on a ball that caromed off the right field wall. He later made a nice running catch on a ball in the gap. He made another outstanding catch in the fourth inning slamming against the wall !
At the Plate : 13 H, 3 BB, 11 K’s
Josh Harrison had two hits including his first home run of the spring. Alec Bohm doubled twice in three AB’s. Jake Cave stays hot - 2 for 2 including a double and also walked. Dalton Guthrie was 2 for 3 including a double.
Pitching :
Gregory Soto made his ST game debut with a scoreless inning ( 1 H, 1 K - 18 pitches - 11 strikes - posted 100 mph on the radar ). Seranthony Dominguez, Andrew Bellatti & McKinley Moore each tossed a scoreless frame - Bellatti & Moore struck out two batters apiece - Moore was 97-99 mph with the heat. Brian Marconi & Mike Adams each retired the only batters they faced to close out innings.
Roster Moves :
Prior to the game the club optioned RHP James McArthur to Triple-A and RHPs Mick Abel, Andrew Baker, Jon Duplantier, Griff McGarry, Francisco Morales and Billy Sullivan were all reassigned to minor league camp.
After the game outfielders Johan Rojas, Jhailyn Ortiz & Simon Muzziotti were optioned, Rojas to Double-A, Ortiz & Muzziotti to Triple-A.

World Baseball Classic Notes :
Kyle Schwarber hit a three run home run and walked twice for Team USA in their 6-2 victory on Saturday over Team Great Britain. JT Realmuto hit a double in the game while Nick Ward went 1 for 4 for Team Great Britain and made some good defensive plays as their first baseman.
Jose Alvarado closed out the 5-1 Team Venezuela victory over Team Dominican Republic with a scoreless ninth inning ( 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 22 pitches - 11 strikes ).
RHP Jaydenn Estanista started and pitched two scoreless innings ( 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 34 pitches - 20 strikes ) for Team Netherlands on Sunday against Team Italy - Jaydenn’s two primary pitches ( four seam fastball and sinker ) ranged from 93 to 97 mph, he also threw a curveball and slider. Vito Friscia drew three walks and was hit by a pitch in his four plate appearances in the game for Team Italy.
