Clearwater, Florida - Roberts Field


At the Plate : 4 R, 4 H, 5 BB, 4 K’s


First baseman Darick Hall (1 for 3) hit one of his patented no doubt about it home runs and DH Bryce Ball clubbed a two run home run over the left center field scoreboard.  Ball went 1 for 2 with a walk.  Kendall Simmons doubled, scored a run and had an RBI in three at bats.  Nick  Podkul singled (1 for 3).


Others who played in the game were Matt Kroon (CF), Simon Muzziotti (LF), Rodolfo Castro (SS), Carlos De La Cruz (RF), William Simoneit (Catcher) and Arturo DeFreitas (PH)

Center fielder Justin Crawford (1 for 3) singled as did second basemen Robert Moore (1 for 3 with an RBI and stolen base) and shortstop Pedro Martinez also singled (1 for 3).  First baseman Rixon Wingrove walked twice in three plate appearances.


Others who played in the game were Troy Schreffler (CF), Caleb Ricketts (C), Andrick Nava (C), Gabriel Rincones Jr (RF), Leandro Pineda (LF), Trevor Schwecke (3B), Nolan Beltran (3B) and Baron Radcliff (DH).

Right fielder Hendry Mendez went 3 for 4 (singles) with a walk and RBI.  Left fielder AJ Shaver was 2 for 4 (two doubles) with three RBIs.   DH Bryan Rincon was 2 for 4 (single, double) with a walk. Third baseman Felix Reyes was 1 for 3 (double) with an RBI and walk.  Center fielder Emaarion Boyd walked twice in three plate appearances and stole a base.  Center fielder Yemal Flores, DH Aidan Miller, Catcher Eduardo Tait, Catcher Ryan Leitch, Shortstop Erick Brito and First Baseman Chad Castillo each had singles.


Others who played in the contest included second baseman William Bergolla and shortstop Trent Farquhar.

DH Devin Saltiban was 3 for 4 with two singles and a home run.  First baseman Dakota Kotowski was 1 for 3 with a double and RBI.  DH Tjayy Walton was 1 for 2 (single) with a walk and RBI, he also stole a base.  Center fielder Avery Owusu-Asiedu and Catcher Luis Caicuto each had singles, left fielder Jordan Viars walked once in two plate appearances and stole a base.


Others who played in the contest included second baseman Nikau Pouaka-Grego, right fielder Raylin Heredia, center fielder Ezra Farmer,  third baseman Bryson Ware,  first baseman Lou Helmig, left fielder Gavin Tonkel, catcher Lou Albrecht and shortstop Diego Gonzalez.

Grapefruit League Game Twenty-Seven :


Rays 6 Phillies 5

Clearwater, Florida


Tampa scored twice in the first inning on a home run (Yandy Diaz), a hit batter and a double.


Kody Clemens homered in the second inning.   A walk and two singles scored a Rays run in the third.


Jordan Luplow and Whit Merrifield singled in the sixth inning, Luplow scored on a groundout by Alec Bohm.  JT Realmuto reached on a fielding error, a single by Kody Clemens scored a run.  Johan Rojas and Edmundo Sosa each singled to score two more runs.


A walk, single and double scored two runs for Tampa in the eighth inning.  Two doubles scored a Rays run in the ninth, one of the doubles was hit by former Phillies minor league infielder Curtis Mead.


At the Plate : 5 R, 8 H, 0 BB, 12 K’s


Kody Clemens was 2 for 4 (single & HR) with two RBIs and two runs scored.
