Game Summary : Phillies 4 Yankees 0
Rhys Hoskins beat the shift with a single thru the vacated second base hole in the third inning that scored Ronald Torreyes ( singled & advanced to second on a groundout ).
Roman Quinn singled to lead off the fourth inning, an infield hit off the glove of Yankee first baseman Jay Bruce, he went to second on a throwing error and scored when Yankee left fielder Clint Frazier lost a fly ball in the lights off the bat of Jeff Mathis that fell in front of him for a double.
Didi Gregorius homered far over the right field wall also scoring Rhys Hoskins ( singled ) in the seventh inning.
On The Hill : limited Yankees to two hits
Aaron Nola ( FB 92-94 ) was excellent. He limited the Yankees “A team” lineup to just one hit over six innings and struck out nine batters. Aaron walked no one and threw 84 pitches - 56 for strikes. He was vintage Ace-like this evening.
Nola was named the opening day starter by Joe Girardi today, he will be making his fourth straight opening day start. That’s the longest Phillies streak since Steve Carlton’s 10-year run, 1977-1986.
Brandon Kintzler ( FB 90-92 ) went 2/3 of an inning allowing a single. He rolled a double ground ball that would have ended the frame but the infield failed to convert it. The skipper was operating in real game mode and went to Tony Watson to face Jay Bruce.
Tony Watson ( FB 90 ) retired Jay Bruce on a long fly to center to end the seventh inning on just one pitch.
Hector Neris ( FB 91-93 ) forgot his jersey and wore number 98 tonight. It didn’t effect his pitching as he threw a perfect eighth inning with one strikeout.
Enyel De Los Santos ( FB 93-96 ) tossed a perfect ninth inning to finish it, he struck out two batters. He won an epic 10 pitch battle against Chris Gittins eventually striking him out on a foul tip. Enyel then needed just six pitches for the next two outs.

Defensive Gems :
Ronald Torreyes made a diving stop on a hard liner off the bat of Aaron Judge and got up to throw him out at first base to end the sixth inning. He’s making it hard to keep him off the roster 👀
Johan Rojas ran down a long fly ball to center field for an over the shoulder catch that carried him into the wall and ended the seventh inning. He was all smiles as he ran off the field 👏🤓.
