Rays 6 (14-10) Phillies 2 (13-12-1) @ St Petersburg

Summary :

The Rays hit three singles to score a run in the second inning.  They added another run in the third frame as Wander Franco doubled and scored on a single by Brandon Lowe.

Tampa scored four runs in the fifth inning on three singles, two walks and a double.

Kody Clemens drove in two runs with a single in the sixth inning including Scott Kingery who had doubled.

At the Plate : 6 H, 2 BB, 14 K’s

Kody Clemens was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.  Scott Kingery doubled.  Darick Hall singled and walked in four plate appearances.

LF Jordan Viars had a day going 2 for 3 with a home run, he smoked a line drive up the middle that hit off the pitcher’s forearm in his first AB for a single and absolutely crushed a long home run to right field in the fifth inning.  CF Justin Crawford, C Ryan Leitch, 1B Chad Castillo and RF Dakota Kotowski each singled.

Defensive Gem :

CF Justin Crawford made a long running catch on a fly ball to left center field, made it look easy.

LH Braeden Fausnaught - 2 IP, 2 R, 3 H, 0 BB, 1 K

LF Wilfredo Flores & 3B Felix Reyes both went 3 for 4 and scored a run.  Flores had two RBIs and stole a base as well out of the leadoff spot, Reyes also stole a base.  Shortstop Bryan Rincon had two hits (double and triple) and an RBI.  1B Cole Moore doubled and CF Yhoswar Garcia singled.

3B Nick Podkul went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs.  DH Max McDowell was 2 for 5 with a double, RBI and two runs scored. LF Simon Muzziotti was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored.  RF Matt Kroon, 1B Carlos De La Cruz, C Nick Matera, 2B Pedro Martinez and DH Herbert Iser each had knocks.  Matera, Iser and Martinez each doubled.
