Twenty-ninth and final day for minor league Spring Training Camp. Camp broke, buses left for the airport with team flights scheduled for both Reading and Jersey Shore this afternoon. Those told they’ve made the Threshers roster made the walk to the stadium clubhouse while those who will now transition to extended spring training camp prepare to do so with ongoing work at the complex. Rosters will be announced by the affiliates in the coming days, I will then piggyback that with my take on who’s going where.
One last time in ST Camp - fielding, hitting, throwing, nutrition, mental prep, strength & conditioning continued.
Side Bullpens : 19 pitchers
Braeden Fausnaught, Aaron Combs, Estibenzon Jimenez, Luke Russo, Marcus Morgan, Sam Highfill, Ramon Rosario, Eli Trop, Alexander De Los Santos, Eligio Arias, Fernando Ramos, Joel Heredia, Naoel Mejia, Ranger Suarez, Josh Hejka, Tristan Garnett, Nate Karaffa, Kevin Warunek & Guissepe Velasquez.
Live BP : 3 pitchers
Ryan Degges, Ryan Dromboski & Brad Pacheco
Note :
Today was the first time I’ve seen Pacheco in action - was very impressed - high octane fastball and a twelve to six curve ball as primary offerings I was today - lots of swings and misses. The nineteen year old is stateside for his first summer of action.
3/28/25 Intra-squad Scrimmage Report :
I watched and reported on the intra-squad scrimmage on Roberts Field in yesterday’s article - here are some notes on the Ashburn Field scrimmage that have become available.
Seven players had two hit days - Eduardo Tait, Alirio Ferrebus, Raider Tello, Aroon Escobar, Brady Day, Nolan Beltran and Kodey Shojinaga. Doubles were hit by Paul McIntosh, Escobar and Tait. Shojinaga and Beltran each hit two triples. Kehden Hettiger hit a home run. Joel Dragoo drew three walks while Elio Prado, Nikau Pouaka-Grego, Dante Nori, Aroon Escobar and Carter Mathison each walked twice. Brady Day posted three RBIs as did McIntosh while Escobar and Dante Nori each had two RBIs.
RH Jake Eddington stood out on the mound with three scoreless frames (3 H, 4 BB, 3 K’s - 61 pitches - 35 strikes).
Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
