Notes and Observations :

Outfielders had a tough time with the sun today - multiple balls lost in the glare.

Gage Wood impressed in his one inning plus of work - was a perfect inning plus - coaches actually kept the team on the field so that he could face a fourth hitter - two 4-3 ground outs and two strikeouts - knuckle curve is a true out maker and velo was humming today as well - good stuff.

Adam Seminaris is a consummate “crafty lefty” - mixes pitches, throws strikes - he went two innings - gave up a couple hits including a left center field home run stroked by Luke Davis.

Giussepe Velasquez also went two frames - left pitches up and was hit a bit - three doubles, two singles - struggled in stretch holding runners on.

First time I’ve seen sidearmer Cody Bowker - unique arm angle - high ride - looked to have decent pop - want to see more - another 2025 draftee with upside.

Both Andrew Baker and Brad Pacheco have big arm stuff but both caught too much plate today and were hit a bit. It’s early so sharpened command can come over the next four weeks.

Hitters who stood out : Luke Davis - single & HR, Devin Saltiban - a couple hard hit singles, doubles were hit by Brock Vradenburg, Jose Colmenares, John Spikerman (he squared it up a couple times), Alex Binelas (two doubles). Raylin Heredia tripled.

Singles were hit by Jordan Dissin, Nick Biddison, Tyler Pettorini and Logan Dawson.

Pitchers not throwing BP’s/Scrimmage- Team defensive practice on Roberts, Carlton & Ashburn

Position Players : Defensive practice and BP on Roberts, Carlton and Ashburn

Other Notes :

It was my privilege to sit and chat baseball with Greg Giombarrese - Vice President - Communications - Jersey Shore BlueClaws today who was on hand to watch practice and the intra-squad at the complex today.  Greg’s been with the BlueClaws seventeen years and is a really good announcer and baseball man - it truly was fun today to chat about the action in front of us and also reminisce about times past.  Good stuff indeed!

Also my honor to introduce myself to Charlotte Varnes - one of the great Phillies writers from the Athletic - she was on hand as well to take in the scrimmage.

Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
