On Friday the fellas will begin playing baseball games against other teams. The Phillies have scheduled games against the Tigers and Blue Jays. On game days there will be four contests ... one designated as AA, one as High A, one as Low A and another as Rookie level.
The Phillies will play nine games at each of the four levels, five against the Tigers and four against the Blue Jays. There will be two games at each team’s location on the days they are scheduled to meet with AA/Low A as a group and High A/Low A as the other group.
Games will be played both at the team stadiums and their complexes however there will be no fan admittance due to MLB Covid protocols. Teams are also being restricted as to how many staff members can be included.
In Allentown the Alternate Camp players have already been scrimmaging against the Yankees and Mets. To date there have been no fans allowed in however there are a few camp games upcoming on the schedule where tickets have been sold. Social distancing and masks required.
The balance of the coming week in Clearwater will be spent on continuing drills and live BP sessions in preparation for the upcoming practice games.
I’ll have my early roster predictions for the four full season minor league affiliates in the coming days ... it’s an educated guess at this point ... we will continue to update as camp progresses.
Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
