How they scored :


A single, stolen base and single scored a run for Rochester in the third inning. Andres Chapparo homered for them in the sixth inning.


A single, walk, double, ground out and wild pitch scored three runs for Rochester in the seventh inning.

Felix Reyes had two hits (singles). Steward Berroa doubled.

This Day in Baseballtown History - April 11, 2023: At Reading, the R-Phils open up their 2023 home schedule against the Hartford Yard Goats. It is the first game played with a new home run wall, lights and much more, amongst ongoing construction during the season. The R-Phils fell to Hartford 8-6 in front of 6,417 fans. How they scored :


Nick Biddison doubled on misplayed wind swirled pop up with two outs in the second inning, he scored on a line drive double down the right field line by Louis Caicuto.


Brooklyn scored twice in the third inning on three singles, a hit batter and walk.


Devin Saltiban hit a wind swirled triple in the fourth inning that Brooklyn’s left fielder lost in the sun, the ball landed at least thirty feet from him 😳. Joel Dragoo hit a sacrifice fly to score Saltiban.


Louis Caicuto homered in the fifth inning.


A triple and wild pitch scored a run for Brooklyn in the ninth inning.


Brooklyn scored a run in the tenth on a fielders choice, walk and sacrifice fly. Two more walks scored another run. A wild pitch scored the third run of the inning.


At Bat : 3 R, 5 H, 4 BB, 12 K’s


Louis Caicuto had two hits (double & HR), walked and posted two RBIs. Nick Biddison and Trent Farquhar each doubled and Devin Saltiban tripled.


Things ya see in the minors :


Joel Dragoo walked in the ninth inning, Nick Biddison reached on catcher’s interference. A balk advanced them a base. Louis Caicuto reached on catcher’s interference. Despite loading the bases the BlueClaws failed to score - there was some chirping afterwards between the two teams and multiple players confronted one another before disbanding.

Luke Gabrysh struck out four batters in the first inning (the sixth BlueClaw with four strikeouts in an inning; Andrew Baker in 2024 was the most recent) and fanned the first seven batters he faced in the game. His previous career high strikeout mark was five, set three times last year. He is the seventh BlueClaw with at least six strikeouts in the first two innings in a game. The only other two to fan the first six in a game were Griff McGarry(4/20/2022 vs ASH, came out of the game after the second inning) and Kyle Kendrick(4/18/2006 vs Greensboro, retired the first 12 total, but six via the strikeout, fanned 12 over 8 scoreless and 2 hit innings). - Greg Giombarrese - Vice President - Communications - Jersey Shore BlueClaws

A single and double scored a run for Tampa in the third inning.


Tyler Pettorini singled in the fifth inning, he advanced to second on a passed ball. Griffin Burkholder put down a sacrifice bunt to move him to third base. Juan Villavicencio walked, Alirio Ferrebus singled to score Pettorini.


With two outs in the bottom of the tenth Alirio Ferrebus walked. Will Vierling singled to move him to second, Matthew Ferrara singled to score him with the walk-off game winning run!


At Bat : 2 R, 8 H, 4 BB, 10 K’s


Tyler Pettorini had two hits (singles). Alirio Ferrebus had two hits (single & double), an RBI and  two walks. Will Vierling had two hits (singles).

Player Development Center : Extended Spring Training  :


A fun competition today as players were divided into two teams and participated in various events against each other including PFP’s, Position player accuracy throws, relays, rag ball, situational hitting and home run derby.


Side bullpens were thrown by Alexander De Los Santos, Deiry Gonzalez, Matthew Fisher, James Tallon and Wesley Moore.  John McMillon and Jaydenn Estanista threw live BP’s.


System Transactions :


Lehigh Valley - OF Steward Berroa (acquired and optioned on 4/8) added to the roster.  OF Pedro León placed on the 7-Day IL with a R Hamstring Strain.

 

Clearwater - OF Victor Cardoza added to the roster (from PDC). OF Jonathan Hogartplaced on the 7-Day IL with R Knee Discomfort
