International League ( AAA ) - Durham 12 (6-9) Lehigh Valley 9 (6-6)

Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park


Summary :


Matt Kroon walked in the first inning, went to third on a single by Jordan Luplow and scored on a sacrifice fly by Weston Wilson.


Dominic Smith hit a two run home run for Durham in the third inning.  A double, walk and double scored two runs for them in the fourth inning, that same combination scored two for them in the fifth inning.


Scott Kingery homered in the bottom of the fifth inning.


Durham scored a run in the sixth inning on a single, stolen base and double.  They scored five runs in the seventh on a hit batter and four hits, Junior Caminero hit a three run home run.


In the bottom of the seventh Simon Muzziotti hit a three run home run scoring Aramis Garcia (walked) and Nick Podkul (singled) ahead of him.


Weston Wilson and Darick Hall singled in the 8th inning, they both moved up a base on a ground out and both scored on a single by Nick Podkul.  Simon Muzziotti singled, both he and Podkul moved up a base on a wild pitch.  Podkul scored on a ground out by Scott Kingery.


Jordan Luplow homered in the bottom of the ninth.


At Bat : 9 R, 11 H, 4 BB, 11 K’s


Jordan Luplow, Weston Wilson Nick Podkul and Simon Muzziotti each had two hits.  Scott Kingery, Jordan Luplow and Simon Muzziotti hit home runs, Muzziotti had three RBIs, Kingery had two RBIs.


On The Hill : 12 R, 15 H, 6 BB, 9 K’s


Kolby Allard went 4 innings, 6 R, 8 H, 4 BB, 4 K’s.  Griff McGarry pitched two innings, 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 4 K’s.  David Parkinson pitched an inning, 5 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s.  Zac Houston pitched 1.1 innings, 0 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 1 K.  Tyler McKay pitched 2/3 of an inning, he faced one batter and got a double play grounder.

Jordan Luplow (10 for 24 -.417, .462 OBP, 3 HR, 7 RBIs), Scott Kingery (6 for 17 -.357, .450 OBP, 3 HR, 5 RBIs, 3 SB), Nick Podkul (6 for 17 -.353, .389 OBP, 4 RBIs), Cal Stevenson (4 for 9 -.444, .545 OBP)and David Dahl (4 for 9 -.444, 2 HR, 3 RBIs, .545 OBP) had strong weeks.  Pitchers David Buchanan (8 IP, 2 R, 0.63 WHIP), Tyler Phillips (7 IP, 1 unearned), Jose Ruiz (2 appearances,3 IP, 0 R), Michael Mercado (2 IP, 0 R) and Tyler McKay (3 appearances, 2 IP, 1 unearned R) each had good series.


Lehigh Valley won 3 of the 6 games in the series - they travel to play Scranton Wilkes-Barrre on Tuesday.


Eastern League ( AA ) - Portland 9 (4-3) Reading 5 (3-6)

Reading, PA - FirstEnergy Stadium


Summary :


Portland scored a run in the first inning on two hits.


Gabriel Rincones Jr singled in the bottom of the first, Trevor Schwecke, Jim Haley and Bryce Ball walked to score a run.


Eddinson Paulino hit a three run home run for Portland in the second inning.  Three singles and a fielding error scored two more.


Jose Rodriquez walked in the third inning and scored on a home run to left field by Gabriel Rincones Jr.


Portland scored two runs in the fourth on a home run (Kyle Teel), a walk and two singles.


Bryce Ball walked in the 6th inning, advanced on a single by William Simoneit and scored on a groundout and scored out by Marcus Lee Sang.


Jim Haley singled in the seventh inning, Bryce Ball walked.  Kendall Simmons doubled down the left field line to score Haley.


Matthew Lugo homered for Portland in the ninth inning.


On The Hill : 9 R, 12 H, 3 BB, 10 K’s


Noah Skirrow went 2 innings - 6 R - 3 earned, 7 H, 1 BB, 1 K.  Zach Haake pitched two innings, 2 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s.  Tristan Garnett pitched two scoreless innings, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s.  Max Lazar pitched two perfect innings, three strikeouts.  Carlos Francisco pitched an inning, 1 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K.


At Bat : 5 R, 6 H, 7 BB, 9 K’s


Gabriel Rincones Jr had two hits (single & HR, two RBIs).  Kendall Simmons doubled.  Bryce Ball walked three times.

Reading won 2 of the 6 games in the series -  they travel to play Binghamton on Tuesday.


South Atlantic League ( High A )  - Hickory 10 (3-6) Jersey Shore 8 (5-4)

Hickory, NC - L.P. Frans Stadium


Summary :


A single, walk and double scored a run for Hickory in the first inning.


Zach Arnold homered in the second inning.


Hickory scored twice in the second inning on a walk, single and double.


Bryan Rincon walked in the fourth inning and scored on a double by Hendry Mendez.


Hickory scored five runs in the 4th inning - four on a grand slam home run by Tucker Mitchell.


Cade Fergus homered in the sixth inning.


Yosy Galan hit a two run home run for Hickory in the seventh.


Hendry Mendez,Felix Reyes and Leandro Pineda singled in the ninth to load the bases.  Jordan Dissin singled to score two runs.  William Bergolla tripled to score two more.  Andrick Nava singled to score Bergolla.


On The Hill : 10 R, 11 H, 6 BB, 8 K’s


Estibenzon Jimenez pitched four innings, 8 R, 8 H, 3 BB, 2 K’s.  Andrew Walling pitched a scoreless inning, 1 H, 2 BB, 3 K’s.  Danny Wilkinson pitched a perfect inning - 1 K.  Jonathan Petit pitched an inning, 2 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K.  Wesley Moore pitched a scoreless inning, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K.

Jersey Shore won 3 of the 6 games in the series - they host Brooklyn on Tuesday.


Florida State League ( Low A )  - Clearwater 5 (6-3) Fort Myers 3 (4-5)

Clearwater, FL - BayCare BallPark


Summary :


Bryson Ware and Trent Farquhar singled in the first inning, they both scored on a double by TJayy Walton.


Fort Myers scored three runs in the second inning on a walk, double and three singles.


Trent Farquhar reached on an error in the fifth, Jordan Viars walked.  TJayy Walton hit a long home run onto the upper part of the berm in left field to plate three runs.


On The Hill : 3 R, 5 H, 4 BB, 11 K’s


Mavis Graves went 1.2 innings, 3 R, 3 H, 2 BB, 3 K’s.  Braydon Tucker was excellent in relief - 4.1 innings, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - stranded two inherited runners.  Drew Garrett pitched a scoreless frame, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K.  Ethan Chenault pitched a perfect 8th inning - 1 K.  Saul Teran closed with a perfect ninth - he struck out the side!


At Bat : 5 R, 6 H, 1 BB, 7 K’s


TJayy Walton had a day - 2 for 5 (double, HR, 5 RBIs) posting the first home run of his pro career. Jordan Viars doubled.
