International League ( AAA ) - Rochester 4 ( 9-7 ) Lehigh Valley 3 ( 7-9 )


Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park


Summary :


Rochester scored a run in the first inning on three singles, the third an RBI knock by Josh Palacios. They added three more in the second inning on two singles, a double and a throwing error by catcher Donny Sands.


Nick Maton walked in the third inning, Donny Sands singled and scored Maton, Sands also scored on the play on a throwing error by Rochester catcher Chris Hermann.


Yairo Munoz singled in the 6th inning, went to third on a single by John Andreoli and scored on a single by Drew Maggi.


Donny Sands was ejected in the 8th inning for arguing an auto ball call for delay of game.


On The Hill :

Summary :


Harrisburg scored in the first on a bases loaded hit by pitch. Brady Lindsly hit a solo home run for them in the second inning. Another run scored on a double, single & sac fly.


Shawn Williams was ejected in the top of the second inning for arguing a bunt call on a ball laid down the third base line.


Harrisburg scored two more in the third, one on a home run by Justin Connell.


Jhailyn Ortiz reached on a strikeout/wild pitch in the 4th inning, went to second on another wild pitch and scored on a single by Logan O’Hoppe.


Harrisburg scored twice in the sixth inning. Reading plated one when Jhailyn Ortiz reached on an error, went to third on a double by Josh Ockimey and scored on a groundout by Logan O’Hoppe.


Game was played in 2 hours and 17 minutes.


On The Hill :

Summary :


Nerio Rodriquez was credited with a two run home run for Asheville in the 4th inning on a ball that was clearly foul down the left field line - wasn’t even close 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️.


Nick Matera walked in the sixth inning and scored on a double by Jared Carr. McCarthy Tatum singled to score Carr ( stole third base ).


Casey Martin tripled to lead off the bottom of the 8th inning. He then scored on a wild pitch. Nick Matera walked and was pitch run for by DJ Stewart. Stewart went to second when Jared Carr reached on an error, to third on a fly out and scored on a double steal with Carr swiping second base.


Asheville scored in the 9th on a hit batter, wild pitch and single. They loaded the bases with two walks and two outs but

Jason Ruffcorn pitched out of it to close the game.


On The Hill :


RH Ben Brown - 3 2/3 IP, 2 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 62 pitches - 43 strikes - threw much better than line indicates - bogus home run call scored the 2 runs 🤪.

RH Carlo Reyes - 1 1/3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 31 pitches - 18 strikes - pitched out of bases loaded jam.

RH Andrew Baker - 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 12 pitches - 6 strikes 🔥

LH JP Woodward - 2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 4 K’s - 26 pitches - 19 strikes - very strong effort

RH Jason Ruffcorn - 1 IP, 1 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 0 K’s - 28 pitches - 13 strikes - 3rd save

Summary :


Yhoswar Garcia walked to lead off the bottom of the first inning, stole second and third base and scored on a groundout by Jadiel Sanchez.

In the second inning Freylin Minyety was hit by a pitch, he advanced on a single by Wilfredo Flores. They both scored on a double by Alexeis Azuaje.

Clearwater loaded the bases in the seventh inning on two walks and a single by Hao Yu Lee. Marcus Lee Sang singled to score two runs.

The game was played in 2 hours and 19 minutes - pitch clock is working tremendously!

Extended Spring Training : Four Inning Scrimmage


Summary :


A three and half inning scrimmage this afternoon followed a morning practice. LHP Jake McKenna’s parents, sister and brother are in town and were on hand to watch as were OF Chris Burke’s mom and dad.
