Summary

Home runs by Darick Hall (line drive solo to RCF) and John Andreoli (one on) keyed a 5-run top of the 9th inning that salted the win. Ten players batted in the game for the winners, and everyone got hits (“Woo-hoo, everybody hits”). Team totaled 17 hits and 6 walks. After dropping the first two games of the series, the Pigs rebounded to win the final four.

Summary

Closer Brian Marconi stuck out Ryan Gold with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th to end a frantic 4-run rally and preserve the 1-run win. Reading carried a 10-5 lead into NH’s final bat. Big bats for the winners were Josh Ockimey, single, 2 doubles and a home run, Jhailyn Ortiz, double and homer and Vito Friscia, his 4th homer of the series. Friscia and Ockimey went deep back-to-back in the 8th.

Game was suspended by rain with Aberdeen leading, 2-1, after 3 innings. It will be completed June 14.

Claws are back home vs. Hudson Valley starting Tuesday night.

Florida State League

Clearwater Threshers (9-9) at Fort Myers Mighty Mussels (11-7), Hammond Stadium

Score

After being rained out the previous two days, the two teams were able to play Sunday afternoon, but the game wound up in a 4-4 tie that was suspended after 10 innings by rain.

Notes

Threshers returned home after the game. Next 6-game series starts Tuesday, a 4-mile road trip to Dunedin.
