International League ( AAA ) - Memphis 8 (22-14) Lehigh Valley 6 (18-17)

Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park


Summary :


Memphis scored a first inning run on a walk and RBI double by Ivan Herrera.


Weston Wilson hit a two run home run in the third inning, his 9th dinger of the year.


Memphis scored a bunch (six runs) in the fifth inning, the first run on a walk and two singles.  Another single plated a second score, two walks forced in a run and then Moises Gomez hit a three run home run.


Simon Muzziotti and John Hicks singled in the seventh, a fielders choice grounder scored a run.  Jim Haley hit a two run home run.  Dustin Peterson homered.


Memphis loaded the bases in the ninth inning on two walks and a single.  A run scored on a sac fly.


On the Hill :


Christopher Sanchez went four plus innings, seven runs on six hits and five walks. Jake Jewell, McKinley Moore, Ben Bowden, Yunior Marte all pitched a scoreless inning, they allowed just one hit and two walks.


At the Bat :


Jake Cave had three hits (two singles & double), Jhailyn Ortiz tripled.  Weston Wilson, Jim Haley and Dustin Peterson homered.  Simon Muzziotti singled to extend his hitting streak to thirteen games.

Summary :


Will Robertson led off the second inning for New Hampshire with a triple, he scored on a groundout.


Oliver Dunn hit a two run home run in the fourth inning.


Miguel Hiraldo homered for New Hampshire in the sixth.


Orelvis Martinez hit a two run home run for NH in the seventh inning.  Sebastian Espino hit a solo home run.  Steward Berroa doubled, stole third and scored on a sac fly.  Damiano Palmegiani homered.


Orelvis Martinez hit his second home run of the game for NH in the 8th inning.


On the Hill :


Griff McGarry pitched the first two innings, he came out firing with the heater in the 96 to 99 mph range, he gave up a run on one hit and one walk, punched out two batters.  Matt Seelinger made his season debut for Reading by pitching a scoreless ninth inning.


At the Bat :


Oliver Dunn homered.

Summary :


Greensboro scored a run in the fourth inning on three consecutive singles.


Casey Martin doubled to lead off the fourth inning, he moved to third on a bunt by Jared Carr and scored on a sac fly by Marcus Lee Sang.  Caleb Ricketts singled and scored on a triple down the left field line by Kendall Simmons, the hard grounder hit the corner of the outfield wall and ricocheted towards center field.


Greensboro scored two runs in the seventh inning on a fielding error, single, walk, sac fly and RBI single by by Mike Jarvis.


A walk and double by Maikol Escotto scored a run in the 8th for Greensboro.


Marcus Lee Sang walked with two outs in the top of the ninth, stole second and scored on a single by Caleb Ricketts.


On the Hill :


Victor Vargas started and pitched three scoreless and hitless innings allowing just a walk and hit batter. Carlos Betancourt pitched two scoreless and hitless innings, only one walk allowed, he extends his scoreless inning streak to seven innings in three May appearances.


At the Bat :


Caleb Ricketts had two hits (singles).  Casey Martin doubled, Kendall Simmons tripled.

Summary :


Clearwater loaded the bases in the first inning on singles by Ricardo Rosario and Justin Crawford and a walk to Gabriel Rincones Jr.  Ricardo scored when Felix Reyes hit into a 6-4-3 double play.


Otto Kemp homered to lead off the second inning.


Gabriel Rincones Jr doubled in the third inning, he stole third base (his 16th of the season) and scored on a single by Jordan Dissin.


Roque Salinas hit a two run home run for Dunedin in the bottom of the third inning.  Jaden Rudd tripled and scored on a single by Glenn Santiago.  Peyton Williams hit a two run home run.


Cade Fergus hit a home run in the fourth inning.


Abiezel Ramirez hit a home run for Dunedin in the bottom of the fourth inning.


Dunedin scored a run in the sixth on a walk, fielding error and RBI single by Roque Salinas.  Two more walks plated another run. A wild pitch scored the third run of the inning.  A hit batter and throwing error scored three more runs.


Jordan Dissin doubled in the 8th inning and scored on a double by Erick Brito.


A double, single, double and single scored two more Blue Jays runs in the eighth inning.  A sac fly scored another run.


On the Hill :


Rough outing for Jean Cabrera, he pitched the first five innings yielding six runs however three of his frames were scoreless. Yoniel Ramirez and Jonathan Petit finished it out, they also struggled in this one.


At the Bat :


Otto Kemp had three hits (single, double and HR).  Gabriel Rincones Jr, Felix Reyes and Jordan Dissin each had two hits. Dissin doubled as did Gabriel Rincones Jr and Erick Brito.   Cade Fergus homered.

Three pitchers threw side bullpen sessions, pitchers who threw today - Chase Webster, Eiberson Castellano and Braeden Fausnaught.  Jon Duplantier threw a live BP session, fifteen pitches.


Extended Spring Training Game vs Tigers @ Tigers Training Complex, Lakeland, FL :


Phillies 11 (6-2-3) Tigers 6


The Phillies drew eleven walks and had six hits en-route to their sixth extended spring training game victory.  Marco Soto tripled and had three RBIs.  Albert Rodriquez and Gavin Tonkel doubled. William Bergolla, Ezra Farmer and Yemal Flores each singled.  Santiago Torres, Yhoswar Garcia and Matt Alifano walked twice.


Phillies pitchers walked ten batters and yielded seven hits.  Daniel Mejia started and went one and one third innings yielding four runs on two hits and one walk.  Ty Collins followed and pitched one and two third innings - no runs, one hit, three walks and three strikeouts.  Christopher Soriano gave up a run in two innings of work, no hits, one walk and one strikeout.  Luis Gomez pitched two scoreless innings yielding two hits.  Saul Teran finished going an inning, one run, two hits, one walk and two strikeouts.
