5/27/21 : Minor League Roundup


Triple A East League - Worcester 9 ( 12-9 ) Lehigh Valley 2 ( 13-8 )


Summary :


CF Cornelius Randolph batting in the leadoff position singled in his first AB, he stole second and scored on a single by RF Ryan Cordell.


Worcester scored five runs in the third inning. They used five singles, a walk and a fielder error to do so. Four of the runs were unearned.


DH Mickey Moniak hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning.


Worcester scored three runs in the 8th inning on two doubles, a single and a walk.


The WooSox added another run in the ninth against Catcher Jack Conley who took the mound for the last inning.


On The Hill :


RH Adonis Medina - 2 2/3 IP, 5 R - 1 earned, 2 BB, 1 K - 51 pitches - 32 strikes

Double A NorthEast League


Doubleheader : Seven Inning Games - Reading ( 4-17 ) Richmond ( 12-9 ) split the DH


Game One : Richmond 4 Reading 3


Summary :


Richmond scored a first inning run on after two wild pitches allowed the first two batters ( both singled ) to advance twice. A couple of walks loaded the bases but starter Taylor Lehman was able to escape more damage.

RF Jorge Bonifacio delivered some much needed run production for Reading with a first inning double to score CF Arquimedes Gamboa ( singled ). Bonifacio advanced to third on a ground out and scored on a wild pitch.


Bonifacio went yard with a solo shot over the left field fence in the third inning.


Richmond scored four runs in the fourth inning on an error, single, walk, triple and sac fly.


On The Hill :


LH Taylor Lehman - 3 1/3 IP, 3 R, 3 H, 2 BB, 5 K’s - 64 pitches - 37 strikes

RH Braden Zarbnisky - two inherited runners scored - charged to Lehman - 1 2/3 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 26 pitches - 17 strikes

RH Tyler Carr - 2 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s - 22 pitches - 16 strikes


At Bat :


2B Madison Stokes tripled. SS Daniel Brito doubled. RF Jorge Bonifacio doubled and homered. LF Josh Stephen walked twice.


Game Two : Reading 6 Richmond 4


Summary :


Richmond scored twice in the first inning on three singles. They scored two more in the third inning on a walk and two singles.


RF Jorge Bonifacio hit a two run home run in the third inning.


Bonifacio made it a great night with a grand slam in the sixth inning after Danny Brito and Hunter Hearn walked and Dalton Guthrie singled ... 👍💪👏


On The Hill :

RF Jorge Bonifacio hit his second and third home runs of the evening in the nightcap including a grand slam and had six RBI’s ! For good measure he also walked 😃.


2B Danny Brito had two hits including a double.



High A East League - Hudson Valley 11 ( 11-10 ) Jersey Shore 8 ( 9-12 )


Summary :


Hudson Valley erupted for seven runs in the first inning. They had four hits, a HBP, four walks and a fielding error.


RF Jhailyn Ortiz singled in the second inning, he went to third base on a double by DH Vito Friscia. 2B Jonathan Guzman tripled to score them both.


The Blue Claws scored four runs in the fifth inning. 3B Nate Fassnacht and CF Hunter Markwardt singled. C Logan O’Hoppe walked. Jhailyn Ortiz hit a grand slam home run 💪


Hudson Valley scored an unearned run in the seventh inning.


Jhailyn Ortiz hit his second home run of the night in the eighth inning 👏.


Ortiz drew a two out bases loaded walk in the ninth to post his sixth RBI of the game. Dang ... what a night !


On The Hill :

Summary :

Jupiter scored in the sixth inning on a walk and three wild pitches.


Jupiter scored the placed runner in the bottom of the 10th inning with a single.
