RH Andrew Painter - 5 IP, 2 R, 5 H, 1 BB, 5 K’s - 81 pitches - 49 strikes - If ya haven’t gotten a chance to watch him here’s notice that the young man is really freaking good 🤓. 96-99 mph on his four seam fastball in this one, four off-speed pitches (primarily cutters today) that he still is getting a complete feel for, composure, moxy, presence and textbook mechanics - just really really fun to watch perform. I also think that it’s good he experiences some innings where he gets hit a bit, experience is the best teacher and Andrew is a fella who absorbs knowledge - will only help him as he continues his comeback and development.
RH Guillo Zuniga - 2/3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 22 pitches - 10 strikes - left game early with an apparent injury.
LH Nick Vespi - 1.1 IP - retired all 4 batters faced - 2 K’s - 17 pitches - 14 strikes
