5/31/23 : Phillies sign RHP Jacob Barnes to minor league contract

Jacob Barnes, a veteran 33 year old reliever has been added to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs roster.  He’s pitched in 252 major league games with the Brewers, Angels, Mets, Royals, Blue Jays, Tigers and Yankees accumulating 249 innings pitched.

This season in 13 games (20 1/3 IP) with the Rangers AAA team Round Rock he posted a 2.21 ERA.  The Rangers granted him his release on May 21st.  He’s a fastball (generally 93-95 mph), slider and cutter pitcher.
