The organization has signed twenty-five year old outfielder/first baseman Matt Higgins to a minor league contract. Higgins was released by the San Francisco Giants organization on 4/29/25 and was scheduled to play for the Kansas City Monarchs in the Frontier League. He signed with the Giants on 6/8/22 as an un-drafted free agent out of Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky. He’s a left handed hitter and right handed thrower who reached the AA level in the Giants organization.
Matt will be assigned to High A Jersey Shore to help backfill in the outfield and first base due to recent injuries to Raylin Heredia and Eduardo Lopez. Best wishes to those fellas in their ongoing recovery and to Matt in his new opportunity.
Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
